We have all witnessed the damage and destruction of the devastating floods in Victoria and Queensland, ruin that will take enormous time and resources to repair.

We have all witnessed the damage and destruction of the devastating floods in Victoria and Queensland, destruction that will take enormous time and resources to repair.

In response to an overwhelming need from our smallest and most vulnerable flood victims, we have decided to donate all of the proceeds we raised at our Charity Golf Day on 25 November 2010 to Variety, the Children’s Charity. They have launched a flood appeal specifically to provide grass roots assistance to children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs and have lost vital equipment in this natural disaster.

Help will include replacing critical medical equipment, mobility devices such as wheelchairs and standing frames, communication aids and specialist computer equipment for children living with illness, physical or intellectual disabilities. It will also include gifting toys and sporting equipment for local children, rebuilding accessible playgrounds and restocking regional school libraries.

Thousands of children are without homes or vital equipment and more than 90 kindergartens and 60 schools have been affected by floodwaters.

Together, we can champion the needs of flood affected children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs, ensuring a rapid response and positive outcomes for these children, their families and communities.

Please be a Champion for our children

If you have been affected by these floods there are a number of special relief packages which most banks have now put in place for customers. These packages include a range of payment deferral options, depending on circumstances, for finance customers directly impacted by the floods.

For businesses with plant and equipment finance, the assistance packages also have further options to assist our most heavily impacted customers. These include measures such as:

  • Fee-free substitution of written-off flood damaged equipment.
  • Waiver of any early termination fees arising from insurance payouts on written-off flood damaged equipment.
  • Decision without financials for replacement of flood damaged equipment up to 120% of the original equipment cost up to a maximum of $100,000. Standard Documentation Fees will also be waived.

Affected customers may access any of these benefits in any combination, depending on their circumstances and needs. For example, a customer may seek to defer payments on an existing contract, finance a new piece of equipment to replace damaged equipment fee-free and payout the original contract once insurance proceeds are received.

I ask you to help us help other affected clients, and make them aware of the assistance available.

Any queries or concerns can be directed to us at any time and we will assist you with getting direct access to the banks packages.

Below is a link which has been kindly given to us by our colleagues at Pitcher Partners. This will give you a full overview of the flood relief programs currently available in Victoria.

With such widespread damage and destruction, business and Government have pledged their support to primary producers, businesses and individuals who have been victims of these disasters.
